The Mori Art Museum "wave" logo expresses energy, frequency and the urge to communicate. It is the central element in the comprehensive visual identity of the Mori Arts Center, which was created by British designer Jonathan Barnbrook to establish a unifying image for the Arts Center's constituent organizations, while at the same time giving each a unique visual identity.
The "Spectrum" is the underlying theme. This can be taken in a literal sense in that the visual arts are all involved in the act of "seeing" and the spectrum represents every possible combination of light. In a less literal way, the theme can also refer to the expression and transmission of different opinions, ideologies, or thoughts - the essence of free expression in art that also provides a mirror of our society and times.
Each subsidiary organization of the Mori Arts Center has a unique spectrum wave form and color that forms its logo. The waves and colors of each part combine to make up the logo of the Mori Arts Center. The color of the Mori Art Museum is red.
In addition to his work on the visual identity of the Mori Arts Center, Barnbrook is also working to further develop a unique identity for the Mori Art Museum. He has a hand in almost all visual representations of the Museum, from templates for exhibition catalogues and brochures to web site pages and fonts.

Situated in Soho London, Barnbrook Design is one of the most innovative graphic design groups in Britain today.
The studio works across a broad range of disciplines including print design, industrial design, typeface design and commercials for television. Some of the projects completed by the studio include design of the Damien Hirst book I Want To Spend The Rest of My Life Everywhere With Everyone, One to One, Always, Forever, Now (1997), which won both the Gold and Grand Prizes at the New York Art Director's Club, the Gold Award at the New York Type Director's Club and the Gold Award in the General Entry category at the Tokyo Type Director's Club 97-98.
Barnbrook Design also collaborates with the anti advertising foundation "Adbusters".
Born in 1966 in England, Jonathan Barnbrook studied at St. Martins School of Art and the Royal College of Art before setting up Barnbrook Design in 1990.
