| The Public Program presents a dynamic and unique range of educational activities designed to give children, students, local residents and the broader community the chance to discover, enjoy, and discuss art. In this way it plays a key role in realizing the Museum's mission of bringing together art and life. The Public Program's activities fall into one of four categories: |
 |
| Exhibition-Related Programs: To enjoy exhibitions more in depth |
 |
- General Programs: Include symposia, lectures, artist talks for general visitors
- Family Programs: Include "Baby Stroller Tours" and "Parent-Child Dialogue Tours," meant for parents and children to enjoy art together (for babies in strollers to small children), "Kids Tours" for primary school children, and workshops
- Access Programs: Include "Verbal Imaging Tours" in which the visually impaired can explore the exhibition through dialogue with the Museum staff, and "Sign Language Tours" designed to enjoy the exhibition using sign language and words
- School Programs: Programs for school teachers and/or schools that including "School Tours," conducted as a part of school classes
- Community Programs: Outreach initiatives and programs meant to pursue involvement with the local community through art and joint projects, often in conjunction with kindergartens in the neighborhood and/or Roppongi Hills
